    • Account data: name, email, and profile picture, provided through Clerk (email registration or Google sign-in).
    • Learning data: flashcard decks you create, study progress, game statistics, and user preferences.
    • Usage data: information collected automatically through Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics, such as pages visited, device type, and session duration.
    • Data sent to AI providers: when you use features like sentence building, conversations, or interactive exercises, the text you enter is sent to external AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and Qwen) to generate responses.

  2. How We Use Your Data

    We use your data to:

    • Operate and improve the platform and its learning features.
    • Store your progress, decks, and preferences.
    • Generate interactive content through AI providers.
    • Analyze platform usage to improve the experience.
    • Communicate with you when necessary (support, important changes).

  3. Cookies

    HanziFacil uses essential authentication cookies provided by Clerk to keep your session active. Analytics cookies are also used through Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies for commercial purposes.

  4. Third-Party Services

    We share data with the following providers, exclusively for the operation of the service:

    • Clerk: authentication and account management.
    • Google: Google sign-in and Google Analytics.
    • Vercel: hosting and usage analytics.
    • OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and Qwen: text processing for AI features.

    We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.

  5. Storage and Security

    Your data is stored in PostgreSQL databases located in the United States. We apply reasonable security measures to protect your information, although no system is completely secure.

    You have the right to:

    • Access the personal data we hold about you.
    • Request correction of inaccurate data.
    • Request deletion of your account and personal data.
    • Request portability of your data.

    HanziFacil is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it immediately.

  8. Data Retention

    We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, unless we are legally required to retain it.

    We may update this policy at any time. Changes will take effect upon posting on this page. Continued use of HanziFacil after posting constitutes your acceptance.
